Plant ID

Anybody know what shrub this is please?  It's probably 12/13 feet high & has a honey fragrance which the bees love.

    It could be an escallonia.

    2/2 is pretty good.  Thanks guys. Can't believe how helpful everybody is on here.  :-)

    Must try to pin down the species, having got a lead on the lead on the genus.  Lots of similar looking plants. but none so far, that match exactly.  It could be rubra Macrantha species?  Looks very similar.
