    They move around so quickly that often I find I haven't taken a photo of a bee!

    Not a bee, just a beefly.  They zip around like golden snitches.

    Wow amazing photos. What species are they. I've had loads of strange solitary bees. Mostly mason bees. I've counted nearly 30 bamboo canes blocked up with mud so far. I also had a strange find of a tiny solitary wasp that kills garden pests like aphids to fill its nest with to feed the growing larvae.

    Thank you. I would say, the first is a honey bee. The mid ones are newly hatched (probably female) mason bees from nest boxes on my shed, which is why they are on my fingers.  And the last is some kind of bumblebee (I don't remember which; I was experimenting with a new-to-me SLR - probably buff-tailed).
