Canna Wyoming

I have just planted out my cannas and as usual Wyoming is slow to start. It can also be reluctant to flower. Does the fact that it is purple-leaved reduce its willingness?
Everyone likes butterflies. Nobody likes caterpillars.

    I like caterpillars.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I'm not sure that foliage colour affects flowering as I have dark leaved dahlias flowering before green leaved dahlias, all planted as tubers at the same time.  Are all your cannas the same age?

Slow to start but usually flowers. Full sun and plenty of blood fish and bone helps. Sure fire way is potted with weekly tomato or seaweed feed. Usually full swing by august and keep going till nov

I never had a problem getting it to flower at the normal time. They're heavy feeders.

I like caterpillars too @wild edges - and more importantly, the birds do  ;)

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
