Plant ID please - tall, mysterious plant with red and green leaves

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can ID this plant for me. They’ve been popping up all over my garden. They’re relatively tall (around 60cm I’d guess), and reddish tinged leaves. No visible flowers as yet. They seem to be all over the place and I have no idea! Thank you in advance :)

Willowherb. Don't let it seed whatever you do  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I would pull it all out as soon as you can.

I’ve allowed willowherb take over part of the garden a couple of years ago, seduced by their pretty flowers en masse and good food source for butterflies, BUT they are highly invasive and spread by seed. Little seedlings are now EVERYWHERE.
Shallow rooted so easily pulled out by hand but they just creep up in most obscure places.

Willowherb. Easy to deal with once you have control, but a real problem if you let it establish. Even the cultivated forms, there is an elegant white form, need watching very carefully.

Don't just pull at them you will almost certainly leave the root behind.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
