Achillea millefolium

Morning,

Whilst tidying up a bed, I pulled up a few stems of Achillea millefolium (the wild, common yarrow) just to make a bit more space for other plants. I noticed that they came away quite easy really with a decent bit of root per stem.

I was wondering if these ‘excess’ stems can be replanted elsewhere as I do like it and it’s great for pollinators?

 Thanks.

    Yes you can do that.
I have cultivated varieties and if I want more I just pull up a bit with tiny roots on it, pot it up in multi purpose compost and within 3-4 weeks it's ready to plant out.
I'm pretty sure it'd work too just replanting a bit elsewhere if you keep it watered for the first few weeks

  • Great, I might as well give it a try then. The weather looks to be pretty cool here for the next week with a bit of rain so hopefully that will help the stems out a bit.
