  A kitchen palette knife would probably do the same job for a lot less. I find that plastic plant labels work really well, or even just a length cut out of a two litre plastic bottle.

  I'm with @Lizzie27 - an old bread knife.  But it's hard work if you have a large pot of them!

  Old bread knife here as well,  palette knifes are a bit bendy.

  Old bread knife.  I have one with saw tooth blades on both sides - far too dangerous for me in teh kitchen but perfect for sliding up and down the sides of a pot to release a reluctant plant and its root ball.    Give the pot a thorough soaking first.

  I haven't seen it yet, but a flexible knife like a palette knife is good if the container has curved sides. Most of the time I use my hori-hori.

  Who in their right mind is going to pay 70 quid for a glorified palette knife!...which is what I use. If it's not a terracotta pot I'll tap the side of it with small rubber mallet to loosen the soil.
