Anyone ever tried growing these from seed? There are well ripe berries on various ones round here.

Not something I've ever tried, but they don't often get to decent seed stage here - the weather usually rots the flowers. I did see quite a lot of them last year in gardens as we had such a hot spell of weather through summer and into late August.
I'd have nowhere to put another one anyway, so it's probably just as well.  :)
I believe you can do cuttings too, but I've never tried that either.

You got me intrigued @Palustris - I had a look around and it seems they're very easy from seed, so definitely worth having a go.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Never thought about it! But I have a massive amount of seeds on mine so maybe I'll grow a few!

The berries split open easily to reveal 3  seeds in each. Sowed them, we shall see what happens.

There's some useful information on this link about growing Fatsia from seed - it recommends using a heat mat to encourage germination: Fatsia Seed Propagation – Learn How And When To Sow Fatsia Seeds (gardeningknowhow.com)
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

Very easy from seed which is fleshy and must be sown fresh. You will have more Fatsia than you know what to do with as they germinate and grow away easily. I used a cold glasshouse.

Thanks both. Wish I did have heat in the greenhouse.
