Looks like Eucomis octopus. that has spotted leaves like that.  I prefer sparkling burgundy.

Ours are outdoors and only just showing new growth. Really like the plant and enjoy the flowers when they come.
  • Cheers both, it's in an open greenhouse at the moment. What's best way of growing it on?

As I said ours are outdoors and that is they are in the ground all year. We don't do anything and just let them grow. They are great plants and while they are slower getting going than greenhouse grown we do have great flowers and every year they do produce new growths and bulbs.
  • Thanks B-M, I'll harden it off and drop it into a border space..

Eucomis are classed as frost hardyin southern areas of Uk. Here in the midlands they come indoors for the winter into a frost free greenhouse.

Maybe tender according to some, but here in very cold North Shropshire they self seed outside and stay there all winter.
  • I'm on an exposed coast on Morecambe Bay in South Cumbria so I'll hedge on safety and bring it in for winter. Thanks again all.
