Chelsea chop.

Has anyone carried out a 'Chelsea chop' on Inula magnifica? I have just pruned mine very hard back and am wondering what the result will be.

I think @harmony has an Inula plant and could perhaps confirm.
I can't see any reason why you couldn't Chelsea chop.

No, I haven't. I have one so I would like to know how yours responds.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Hi, I've just chopped  mine back hard last week, I've been doing this for the last few years and it works really well. They grow back smaller and sturdier instead of flopping.  They look a bit ratty to start with straight after chopping but soon get going.

Brilliant. I made the right decision then.
