Lily of the valley - poisonous

I cleared a bed of lily of the valley last Nov/Dec - roots and everything - then put in some home-made compost, and in March this year I planted some new potatoes, which are now ready to be dug up. As lily of the valley is poisonous, is there still a risk if I eat the potatoes ? Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, poisonous plants don't really do anything to soil itself. Take daffodils for example. I think it all comes down to toxicity when the plant itself is ingested

Your potatoes will be fine to eat.

Don’t forget that potatoes are of the Solanum family which includes several very poisonous plants … and the fruits of the potato plant, which look like green tomatoes, are themselves toxic.
