Judging by the leaves and likely flower colour I'd guess it was one of the nightshades (solanum)

Looks like Solanum dulcamara to me ... Bittersweet or Woody Nightshade

Yes, like many of the Solanum family (potatoes, tomatoes etc) all or parts of it can be poisonous.
