The Leucojums are lovely. I have some of those - there's a few types of them as well. Alliums, of course, are also good for colour through late spring and summer. Loads of varieties. I still have some narcissus in flower here. Narcissus Albus Plenus Odoratus. A bit of a mouthful, but a lovely daff. https://www.peternyssen.com/narcissus-albus-plenus-odoratus.html
The Pheasant's Eye one, Narcissus Poeticus, is quite late too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
To make sure your border looks good until the autumn, it may be worth including tubers as well as bulbs. Yes, I'm thinking dahlias! They'll give you a riot of colour until the first frosts. It's too late to plant them this year but you could start the border off now with some pot grown plants available in garden centres and plant retailers. You'll just need to lift them and store them over winter.
I have zero knowledge but tried planting a few different bulbs for the first time over the winter. Not the best picture, but the Allium Purple Sensation have all come up and certainly give a bit of height and dash of colour.
If you like irises you could look at English iris, I.latifolia. Though they aren't exactly cheap to buy, these are bulbous, quite tall and reliably perennial, which makes them better value long term than the little Reticulatas or the Dutch iris. Mine are a beautiful deep blue and flower in early summer, and there is also a white version. The leaves are nice too, long and slender with a silvery sheen.
Mine came from my mother-in law and have increased gradually over the years as the clumps expand - they look much better in a group than they would planted singly. I often find one or two self seeded bulbs that I can lift and add to the clumps and when a clump gets large enough I split it, so they now repeat along the border. I have also got a trayful of seedlings that I planted from collected seed and am growing on. Peter Nyssen usually sell the bulbs, though there may be other stockists.

Thanks @fairygirl, those daffs are lovely - a bit different from the traditional ones so will be nice to add into the mix

I do love a dahlia and don't have any in my garden at the moment - I'll definitely put some on the list!

They are beautiful - I was so disappointed when nothing happened with mine. I'll definitely include some in the mix!

I chucked some tall Dutch iris bulbs in a pot a few years ago and get beautiful flowers every year. The latifolia look lovely too so I'll add them to my list. Good idea about planting in clumps, I'll take that into consideration for the whole area rather than having "everything" in rows. As you look from the house/main garden, you see the picket fence first so unless you walk right up to that area, you'd only really notice what was in flower, not any sections dying back so I've got a bit of flexibility about how I arrange everything and to allow space to increase over the years with self-seeding. My cess pit is also over there so I was thinking about some kind of bulb arrangement rather than plants to limit how many roots are growing underground but still get lots of lovely colour to look out on
