For full sun, dry ground - I would try sedum and bushy salvia and see what happens. They are happy with rubbish, stony soil. Wildy flowers will probably be tougher and do better - common toadflax, ox eyes, common valerian, maybe a wild flower seed mix - if you are happy to experiment.

My calendula and foxgloves barely made it out of the door before being chomped. For the first time my geranium have been chewed back (Patricia). There is nothing they won't ravage if pushed.

I am experimenting with penstemon in the ground this year and will watch closely to see if they really as slug proof as people say.

Slugs seem totally disinterested in my achilleas, and they can certainly cope with a bit of ‘dry’ from time to time.

That’s funny @Dovefromabove - my achillea which was a large enough plant was getting demolished so I had to rescue it.
penstemon and some wild flowers will be worth trying. I have calendula doing ok there, poppies can be added and salvia. Ajuga and alyssum will also be added if I have time.

Your slugs must be different to the ones here … ours chomp through penstemon and ajuga as if they were Platinum Jubilee Trifle. 🙄

That's interesting. A week in the ground and mine are doing ok - starting to flower. I think all garden mosaics are different.
