Widespread weeds on driveway

We have a large gravelled driveway with widespread of weeds. Whats the best way to get rid of weeds on a large scale? We have dogs and toddlers who love picking up stones so we’re looking for non-toxic methods.

Most of the new weedkillers are pretty harmless. It's either that or you need to get a hoe out regularly  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • There are gas fired weed burners available that can be useful for clearing driveways.
    Happy gardening!

Those weed burners take a lot of gas... and if ours is anything to go by, once the gas canister is less than half full, the pressure reduces so you stand over your weeds for hours trying to shrivel them with a pitifully small flame (or wasting a lot of gas).  In addition, they don't kill perennial weeds like dandelions, couch, docks etc, even the little ones.

My gravel drive looks like this.  I'm probably scandalising the neighbours but apart from removing pernicious weeds (by hand), I'm leaving it... and possibly sowing something like creeping thyme in the areas which don't get driven on.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

My next door neighbour had a  gravel front garden. I doubt she had that weed suppressant thing under it. Anyway, she had some beautiful plants including ones from seeds that I sowed and never saw a plant.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I used 5L cleaning vinegar with 2 tbsps of salt and a squirt of washing up liquid for my drive, but make sure it doesn't go anywhere but the drive.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
