I also grow Allium Cernuum in various parts of my garden . Seems happy in sun or shade. It gets to about 1ft tall and is about to flower now. It is known as the Nodding Onion.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
I'm actually running out of space now, lol, which is good. I'll just have to increase the wild border in the front lawn to accommodate more. 😉 Definitely getting one of those, thanks!
@Slow-worm It is amazing how you think you have space and then it rains{hope you had some too] and everything grows suddenly no space! I am pleased too, as a result of looking up A cernuum for correct spelling, I found there is a white form. Just ordered some. You need to leave the seed heads then there will be more. Sometimes they can like your garden too much and you may have too many. I have grow this Allium for ten years or more. It has more than paid for it's self , I have lost track of how many I have potted up and sold. Good at the edge of a border, where it can nod, grows more or less anywhere sun or shade, not too dry or it won't grow so big.
