I had a very good answer to that one FairyGirl but it wouldn't have been PC and I'd have been accused of being cat racist

We used to use a lattice of bamboo canes, works very well, although a bit unsightly.

Sonic devices don't stop working at the boundary of your garden. Any of your neighbours's pets could be affected by them. Think how irritating it is when a neighbour's burglar/car alarm goes off, and try to imagine that 24/7.

I once had a pot of supermarket rocket on the kitchen windowsill and I caught one of the cats happily chomping on it. There's always one that's a bit weird!

Is that the nice soft mulching type  used for children's playgrounds etc. or the nasty large prickly pieces of coarse bark which I use?

    Youve described my two exactly!
Rescues from Spain,it has to be 30° before its warm enough, indoors on top of the radiator, indoor litter tray, fluffy warm beds and not interested in catching anything. One will venture into the rain sometimes, but expects to be towel dried on his return.😊

I remember reading years ago that marigolds put cats off. I'd just moved house, dug a load of beds in, and everyone for 3 miles had a cat, lol, they were obviously very grateful for some nice loose soil!
I planted a load of marigolds between other plants, and the slugs ate the lot within days. 😒🤣

Rough bark @Joyce Goldenlily. I've never used anything else. They just walk across it, scrape it back and....

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
