Fireblight?

I've taken these leaves from my Amelanchier. Is it fireblight? I seem to suffer the same problem every year. The tree looks great until June when this sort of thing appears and the leaves all fall by Sept, but it seems fine again next spring.

I don't think it's fireblight - the affected leaves turn black with fireblight.
How is the rest of the shrub?
    Any dieback or dead branches?

No, there's never any dieback. This happens every year and the tree just keeps growing as normal, always flowers in spring, but early summer the leaves always do this.
Could it be some kind of chemical burn? (I have a theory about an outside influence)

It looks more like a weedkiller effect, or similar.
If it was early in the year and was getting frost/ice damage, it would be understandable. It doesn't even look right for wind damage.
What do you think could be happening @KirstyWY?

I have a neighbour who doesn't like anything in my garden to grow over 6ft.
(The tree is currently about 10ft and has a quite upright habit, rather than spreading)

If you think they're damaging it, that's serious.  :/

It's just another thing to add to the long list of their misdemeanours.
Although, I won't jump to conclusions ... if anyone else has a theory I'm open to it (I'll just bear it in mind  ;))

I'd get a basic camera on yours and the neighbour's fence line - if it is malicious, you'll have proof, and a reason to impale him on a post augur. 😉
It's difficult to know how to help the plant if you don't know the cause.

I'd love to, and because I own the fence I could do this, but if it catches even a millimetre of their garden I'll have the police at my door  :|

I'm thinking about taking a small branch off the tree and seeing if I can replicate the damage - bleach/weedkiller etc. then at least I'd be a bit more certain

    That's a good idea! 👍
