Scales on jade plant

PyraPyra Posts: 152
My jade house plant has scaly brown patches on the leaves I can't see any sign of spider mites or any other insects, but I haven't take it out of the inner pot and poked through the soil. I wait until its dried out before I water it, so about every two weeks. It's in a south facing window in mostly full sun. Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong with it? The scaliness might be spreading to a succulent next to it, but I'm not sure.
TIA!

Succulent included too.

Have you used any fertiliser recently?
I have a Jade plant too, and sometimes get this after i (rarely) fertilise them. I'm sure i read that it is the salts in the fertiliser that forms on the surface. I believe it can happen after watering in a hard water area too.

@Balgay.Hill no, I haven't used fertiliser at all recently.

As you are in Scotland, you probably have soft water, so that rules that out too.

@Balgay.Hill yeah, very much a soft water area here. I'll just keep an eye on it, see if it improves or worsens. Thanks anyway!
