Will broken dahlia re shoot?

There was one large  stem on my dahlia and something must have jumped on it. It appears to have been snapped at the tuber.
Is it likely that it will reshoot?
In London. Keen but lazy.

    I have a similar one which was broken, a bit away from the tuber. I have potted the broken shoot up in the hope that it will take. I hope some branches will appear from the remains of that shoot and more shoots from the tuber, as it is quite firm and looks good.

    It's in a nice terracotta container. I'm tempted to put something else in there and transfer the dahlia to a plastic pot while I wait unless someone can predict a positive outcome.

    @B3 Good news. The snapped shoot which I potted up is still green and hasn't dried up yet. So fingers crossed.
