Weed?

Good evening. Are these light patches of grass a weed? Possibly ‘Crabgrass’.

How do I get rid of it?

Thanks.

I should think it's  couch grass. No joke to get rid of, but someone will know.

You'd need to dig it out by hand @a-j-stirling. It often appears when grass gets affected by drought, and these coarse grasses thrive better in those conditions.

@a-j-stirling sorry about @MikeOxgreen, he is renowned for being rather curt and rude.
