Is this an asparagus?

Hi

i noticed this in my garden an I’m not sure what it is. Looks like an asparagus but I’m almost sure it’s not

any idea on what is this?

    It’s not asparagus I don’t think .Hard to tell what it is really .Some sort of ornamental grass ?

    It is really tall to be grass, and quite thick and strong

    This is all I have, it’s just a stem

    It would help if we could see what it looks like as it comes out of the ground, and a better look (in focus) at the spiky/ferny leaves.

    It has already gone. I can just say it was firm, and as thick as an asparagus

    Then all I can say is, it might have been. 

    It’s a shame it’s gone as if it is asparagus it would’ve helped the crown build up for future years. Keep an eye open for some miler shoots in the area over the next few weeks.

    Yes, the garden at the other side of the fence has bamboo and equisetum. This might be a good lead…

    Looks like a bamboo to me too.
