Deadheading Group 2 Clematis

Should I be deadheading this Clematis or leave it alone?

It's up to you.  Some people do. Some don't.

The important thing about a group 2 is that once this first flush of flowers finishes you need to do any pruning needed to keep it within the bounds you have set for it and that can be mere dead heading or cutting out the oldest stems to renew vigour or just trimming off stems that have grown to long and wayward or no pruning at all if it's young and hasn't yet reached your intended size.

Whichever pruning option you choose, you need to give it a generous dollop of clematis, rose or tomato feed and a good drink and a mulch to encourage a second flush of flowers in late summer.
