Armeria Maritima (white)

My Armeria started flowering again last Autumn and then the weather changed and the bud was left on. Instead or either dying off or flowering on the same bud this year, it has gone renegade! It has produced mini flowers from the original bud. has anyone else's done this?

I think that's just another form of fasciation  :)
There's a whole thread about it somewhere . If you type that into the search option at the top of the page, you might find it  :)

I wonder if fasiation will be on the increase as more plants become confused by unseasonal weather conditions.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

I wonder about that too @GardenerSuze, but I really don't know enough about it.

  • This is really interesting, thanks so much for the link. I've looked it up on the RHS and the genetic mutation is also known as 'hens and chicks' which I thought was lovely!

I think it will definitely be on the increase.
