Indoor/potted olive tree is drooping 😔

Hello everyone, I have a 4-6 year old olive tree that I purchased a year ago. The branches always grew sideways but recently they’ve been dropping a lot. I’ve also noticed that the branches closer to the roots have lost most of its leaves. We did also recently move into a building that has east facing windows but is much closer to other buildings so it’s not getting as direct sunlight as it used to.

This is my first big plant so I’m not sure if I should be refertilizing, pruning, or anything so I would appreciate any and all tips on how I can best help it thrive!

I’ll post pictures in a second post since the site keeps rotating my picture.

Is there such a thing as an indoor olive tree?

Agree with B3, it needs to be outside.

Sorry, but it will never thrive as an indoor plant.

Sudden leaf drop could be a reaction to the change of conditions.
If you don't have an outdoor space where it could go, the best you can do is the brightest spot you have, and plenty of fresh air. It's unlikely to be happy indoors in the long term though.

I think the decrease in the amount of sunlight it's receiving may have just tipped the balance for your olive tree ... in their home in the Mediterranean regions the light quality is much much brighter and this is what they've evolved to need ... I agree with others that to be healthy it needs to be outside.  Sorry.
