Can someone help me to identify this creature withing our wildlife pond.

    I wonder if it is a rat-tailed maggot, the larva of a hover fly? It looks similar, but I am not an expert. Some others who post here know lots more about insects than I do. Hopefully one of them will be able to help  :)
