Crab apple tree

Some years ago we had to move a crab apple tree. Then about 4 years ago some shoots appeared from the ground where it had been, which I dug up and potted. These have grown in large pots to about 4 ft high but no flowers have ever appeared. Are they worth keeping or am I trying to grow something that will never fruit? I assume they’re suckers from a bit of the original root.
