New turf dead in places

Hi, I had a new lawn done 2 months ago. I watered it 3 times a day with a sprinkler so not to waterlog, for 3 weeks. Avoided standing on it for 6 weeks. And have continued to water and cut weekly

It is dead in a number of places.

Why would this happen? What can I do?

When you say done, do you mean laid onto soil? Or did you seed it? Laid lawns can fail in places. This could be poor contact with the soil. Even watering will not bond them which leads to the grass drying up.

If you seeded it, could be pet urine or compacted areas that need spiking to allow air into the root area. Give that area a light rake over and spike it using a garden fork. Water again and hopefully grass will grow back. If not, rake over and spike and then re-seed the area.
