Plum tree guidance please.

Hi
i have a dwarf Victorian plum tree in a pot. It has lots of little plums on it. At the beginning of the spring I put a layer of compost and some slow release fertiliser pellets. Please see photos. Do I need to do anything else please in terms of feeding or anything else? Last year some of the leaves turned yellow and fell off and I think that may be happening a bit now. How much watering should I be doing as well please? Thanks!

I’d be giving it a bigger pot. But that’s just me.

Water when the top of the soil doesn’t stick to your fingers when you give it a gentle poke.
Thanks but the pot is actually really big! Quite difficult to see from the photo but I repotted it last year. Thanks for the watering advice though.

I would recommend watering the tree regularly next few weeks, otherwise the plums will shrivel and drop.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)
