Hi

Would this be OK to sprinkle in top of Laurel hedging for some feed?

Vitax 1.25Kg Growmore Fertiliser https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001CN0J14/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_F3ZBSK7VJGMXBRAD7997

Thanks

@OldHouseNewHouse You should use Growmore at the base of a plant. I guess you have some problem with your Laurel? Feeding may not be the answer can you give more information or a photo.

Nothing wrong with Laurels just thinking of some feed for them?

    All new buds and leaves!

If they have decent soil they don't need fed. I've never fed laurel  :)
Water is their only requirement until established.

@OldHouseNewHouse I would save your growmore for something else if they are doing well.

  • Thansk for all comments and advice.

Tell me this I have 2 buxus balls and I think they have box blight.

    I have used this

Anyone any experience of this at all?

I don't grow box now, and we don't really have problems with the moth, and very few problems with blight, but if plants are struggling, it's a very bad idea to feed them.

There are various ways of dealing with blight, but they mostly involve cutting out the affected material. There's been lots of comments about it on the forum, so you might find info by using the search option at the top of the page  :)

Yes agree with @Fairygirl. Sadly I have spotted two box caterpillers today. Which I have reported to RHS on their website. This year I have just started growing other things to replace them It was only a matter of time.

  • Any life left in this Laurel on the left?

If I were you I’d pull up all that grass round the shrubs to give the poor things a chance. They are competing with the grass for water and nutrients.
