Grape problem

We have a grape vine here in South West France and every year we have the same problem. In late April the raisins form and seem to do quite well but every year about now a lot of them start to drop off. Is this OK? We eventually get grapes but wonder if this is normal. Our garden centre said (in his broken English) let nature take its course! What do you think.
