Mulch recommendation

Please could someone recommend a good mulch with low nutrient content that can go in between rows of wildflower seeds?

    I bought Sarah Raven’s ultimate Meadow mix. She says don’t use compost because it’s too rich in nutrients, but then she says to use a green waste much in between the rows. So I was wondering where to get that from or how to make it? It’s to stop other weeds growing.

    Ah, ok. You can make your own compost in a rubbish bin or compost bin - it takes a few months. You can buy mulches like ones made of bark or strulch which will have a low nutrient content. If you buy something, just make sure it has no added fertilisers, as many shop bought composts do. Sometimes local councils sell green waste collected from local households. It might be worth checking.

    Are the gaps between rows made for walking along?

    I would have thought that green waste, or home made compost would also be too rich in nutrients too. I might use bark.

    I don't think homemade compost has much in it, although the poo of microbes and worms etc will be adding something.
