Identification please

what is this plant. I grew it from seed and have now forgotten what it is. It didn't flower last year but this year it is wonderful

    Stock. Did you grow brompton stocks which flower the second year?

  • I don't know whether the seeds were Brompton stocks but they certainly didn't flower in the first year. I am sure that AnnieD is right that it is a lychnis

    It looks more like a Brompton stock to me. They flower the second year as they are biennials. The flowers don't look right for Lychnis. I assume Lychnis Coronaria Alba as the leaves are rather grey.

    Its not lychnis coronaria.  If you smell it , it should be perfumed as a stock. Lychnis have no perfume, the leaves have a different shape and the flower stems are different.

    Stock. I grew it last year. All, repeat all, the flowers were single.  Not a double amongst them. Still had a wonderful scent though.
