Why are my buds on my rhoderdenrum not coming out in full flower.

Rhododendrons often get affected by frost on emerging flowers, and they therefore don't open properly, or when the soil hasn't been wet enough the previous summer to help fully form the buds.
More likely the former.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
