Deadheading Geum

Morning all....is this the right place to cut when deadheading Geum.
Or, am I better just leaving seed heads on?

Looks right to me.
Some Geums won’t re flower, so you only need to dead head if you like being tidy.

Looks right to me too. I dead head Totally Tangerine, flowers for ages.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

That's how l deadhead mine as well
Agree with

as regards Totally Tangerine, mine are flowering their heads off. I did the first deadheading yesterday.

That is just how it should be done, go further down the stem and you cut off another bud which is sometimes very tiny.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
