Ideas appreciated

Hi All,

Hope you can help. If this were the front of your house, what type of plant would you put? Ideally I would like some type of evergreen climber that would create a “curtain” under the eave of the front door. The only place I’m able to plant if near the tap. It’s south facing but gets dappled shade during summer from the tree to the right. I’m going for a woodland scene for the front so ferns, astilbe, azaleas all around (it’s an oldish photo!)

Thanks again, and love to get your thoughts!

I have Rosa banksiae lutescens on my wall near my front door.  This was it before it was pruned back.  South facing on the side, West on the front.  But be aware that you may not be able to get access to that tap once whatever you plant gets bigger.
