Escallonia going brown

RustyleavesRustyleaves Posts: 21
Hi, I bought this Apple blossom and when it arrived it did have a few yellow leaves. More appeared over the next few weeks but then it seemed to recover. Hasn't grown much since it arrived but now a lot of the leaves have gone or are going brown. Anyone have any ideas/tips to try to rescue it? Thanks!

@Rustyleaves New plants have had such a difficult time this spring, it has been dry and often windy and stressed plants are vulnerable to many things.
Yellow leaves are not such a concern on an evergreen especially at this time of year it is the plant dropping old leaves.
Have you noticed any insects on the leaves, there are some white marks too which may be significant.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Thanks :) this last year we moved house and have a larger garden than before so I'm still finding my feet with it all! When it arrived I was a bit concerned because it seemed to have a lot of what I thought at first might've been aphids or something white/grey on it but there was nothing moving and i caved and hoped it might just be dust and mess from the box. Maybe I shouldn't have :/
