That's a real shame @drew.rycroft. These 'ready made' things are usually hideously expensive for what you get. You don't even need brackets if you have offcuts of timber or similar for the corners. Lining them to prevent rotting is vital though. Old compost bags will do if you have nothing else available, and it saves buying anything.
What you use for filling will depend what you want to grow. A mix of soil and then manure or compost will give you a decent medium for most things. Some will prefer a freer draining, lighter mix, and some will want more sustenance. If you want a couple of different things though, you can add a divider across the middle [those pallets ] and just cover it with plastic in the same way as the rest of the inside of the bed. My raised beds are all ornamental, but I do that with them so that I can create different areas within the beds if necessary.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Have several empty compost bags I have saved for this exact purpose and will be sorting that before filling them. Thankfully the kit cost me nothing as I had a B&Q voucher from the ONS covid surveillance programme which I used to purchase it.

I will be using it purely for growing veg and will be a mix of overwintered jalapeno chilli plants and sweetcorn as an experiment. The soil underneath is heavy clay which I've dug up to improve drainage and lessen impaction and I have purchased additional topsoil to make a good compost and soil mix.
