Supposedly reputable nursery sending out sad, pitiful plants packed so tightly they were utterly crushed.  One Gladiolus Byzantinus was a damaged bulb rolling around in the bottom of the box next to an empty pot!  Allium were all snapped at box height.  Gentiana and Hosta mangled and in one case, completely out of pot and mashed into the corner of the box.  Can't blame the courier - all the damage was underneath the ham-fisted packaging.  Maybe think about spending your money elsewhere :(

Have you contacted them? You need to give them a chance to correct this before condemning them out of hand. They are normally very reputable

I have contacted them, of course, but this is absolutely not the first time I've received plants from them in this tragic condition.  I have no doubt they'll correct the situation but that doesn't mean it's ok to treat plants and customers like this in the first place.  One damaged plant is an understandable error.  16 crushed, damaged, knackered plants out of an order of 22 is unacceptable.

You have been unlucky, I have bought many plants from them and have usually been very happy. If I have had an issue, they have always replaced the plants concerned.

I have bought great plants from there for years. Maybe they have one young packer in a hurry at the moment. I would go through their complaints service to make your point and not via a global website site.

My last order from them was absolutely fine but they have a name and reputation to live up to and honestly, being so hit and miss is just not ok.  Plenty of other nurseries manage to pick healthy plants and pack them carefully.

@Tanty2 I had a bad experience too. Purchased two Stipa's from them late February one was fine the other had no roots and looked like it had been thrown into the pot. It is possible that transport was part of the problem but with virtually no roots and all compost it is not suprising that this happened.
I did want two plants and I paid for two, ended up planting together as one in the hope that I might get a flower spike but no will need to wait another year. I did contact them in early March but no reply. They did get back to me on 9th May, basically requesting a photo of an ailing plant. I explained that I had planted as one due to one plant having little root. I have explained again what happened but doubt if I will get a reply.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

I think you need to be a bit careful, you are not happy, understandably, but many people rate them very highly. They regularly win awards.

Why not?   Going through their complaints service means every customer this happens to thinks it's just one unlucky experience.

Winning awards is not a guarantee of anything.  Have you watched The Oscars?

That is stupid, they have won awards from Which, a very reputable company.
And, there are plenty of very deserving Oscar winners.
