Honey Fungus?

Hi there-I am afraid to ask-and I think I know the answer-but is this Honey Fungus? The white is just under the bark of a Viburnum, juniper, rose and a Hydrangia that I just removed as they all died 😭
Please Does anyone have a miracle cure? I believe it came from a dead tree (not mine-in the boundary hedge) I can’t get all the roots out as it’s not my tree and they run under the wall, the pond and half the garden probably! There is no way to remove all the the roots of the Virburnum either-it was almost 40 years old and rooted under the wall as well! Any suggestions at all before it spreads even further? I didn't notice black bootlace things in the soil but we did have light brown mushrooms in this area last year-and then dead plants 😭

Yes, that's honey fungus.  Exactly the same happened to my viburnam.  Dig out every single piece of root you can and dispose of all of it away from your own compost.  I had a tree surgeon deal with mine and he took it away to dispose of safely.
Look up on the RHS website to see what you can plant there that is less susceptible to HF.  I left my bit for a few months, dug in some fresh compost and planted a Cercis. This was last autumn - and it flowered very prettily this spring.

Don't panic. Honey fungus is everywhere but you will be able to grow loads of stuff. I have it in my garden but it's not a problem.
