Young brassicas having a colour change

We put in many very healthy looking brassicas. They took very well, but over the last week or so,some of them have developed a reddish purple patch. Not all plants are affected and not all leaves on the affected plant are involved.I did wonder if the very cold snap shortly after they went in could have caused it. Have any of you ever seen this  ?and if so what (If anything ) should I do.I should also add that the affected plants look perfectly fit and well.

Brassica covers a wide range - what precisely are you growing as that may help with advice.    The leaf colour you describe can occur on a number of plants after a particularly cold spell.

Yes exposure to open conditions often causes this. They will probably grow out of it. All brassicas love seaweed tonic, and feed, that will ensure new leaves are a nice dark green.
    AB Still learning

  • The affected plants are cabbages, some Greyhound and some Golden Acer. I have not looked in on my sprouts yet today,so possibly the sprouts are joining in too.
I thought of giving them a feed ,but will feeding them this early in their growing season  do them harm ? I was thinking of a dressing of bonemeal and or seaweed extract
Any ideas at all would be very welcome.
