Dying Trachycarpus

Hello. We have a trachycarpus fortunei which stopped growing a couple of years ago. It was about 6 foot tall and otherwise healthy but it looks like the crown got rot or some fungal disease (it stunk like fish!) I've left it in the ground like this for a couple of years but it is almost entirely yellow now. The strange thing is that it still flowers, so there is some life even though it can't throw any new fronds. Soy question is can it be saved? Is it worth chopping the top off and  seei mg if it grows? I've seen people who have had some succes with this. TIA Matt

I can't answer your question apart from saying we have a mag specimen and thankfully we haven't had any problems. Yes it is showing flowers and it over 25 feet tall now. I don't know if you can cut it back. You need to contact one of the centres that know about this plant. So sorry yours isn't doing so well at the moment. A beautiful palm.
