Rescuing leggy dahlias

Hi all

I was recently away for 2 weeks and decided to bring my dahlia tubers inside the house in case of frost. I pinched them before I went away and came back to them all being very leggy.

Please can I have opinions on best course of action? I am considering either; pinching again or planting out and hoping they thicken up or cutting the stems right back to tuber in the hope more will sprout to start again?

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

The only one that looks a bit leggy is the one on the right. The rest look fine.
Probably could do with getting into bigger pots. The soil level is very low in them too, so they'll need more sustenance to keep them happy.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Looking a lot better than some of my seedlings, but the Tubers I bought from a pound shop are doing very well.
I never knew retirement would be so busy.
