It was in a large pot. Any ideas what this might be from its strange white root? Thanks

Not sure it is possible to ID this, the roots look as it they are elongated because of the large pot. One bulb or  is green from being on the surface of the soil. If I were just to take a guess maybe Iris Reticulata as there appears to be a small bulbil.

It could be, or it could be triteleia, hard to tell. The roots just surprised me as I haven’t seen anything liked this. I’ve planted it in the borders now hoping it’s something good.

Are those long white growths roots?  To me they could be shoots which would’ve been green if they’d been in the light.

Hard to say @Dovefromabove, they were in a deep pot, growing downward with a tiny bulb above the white fleshy root. I’ve put them in the ground to see now
