That's really what it's about - trying different plants, and different looks. I like a lot of greenery too. I don't like the colours most people like either, but that's the point - we're all different. I find it hard to just sit in the garden. I like a project, so sometimes I just take whole things out and change them. I did that last spring - took all the lawn out and built a bigger pond.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I sometimes have to take a long time choosing things. I hate pastel colours - especially pink and blue, so it can rule out a lot. I prefer stronger colours, but they still need a cool background to complement them. I have a lot of purples, dark reds, and white, but I use orange with those purples too, for certain areas. Fussy b*gger ain't I?

I definitely prefer cooler colours, purples and blues and tend to not like oranges and yellows. But having said that, we loved this wildflower section when we threw some seeds down.
I do think it can be down to the setting too @Latimer. That's a really nice little area. Our gardens reflect us and our likes and dislikes. That's the whole point. Even when people want a 'natural' look, gardens are never that. They're planned and manipulated according to what we want

Absolutely. I'm currently grateful for the Herb Robert that's growing in the sunken area covering all the rock and flint I've dumped!
