standard acer

Have bought a standard acer planted in abig pot with multi purpose compost  planted in late march the problem is allthe growing tips have started to die on the end of each branch have
kept it well watered  would like to know how to revive it thanks

    What size did you put it into, and what size was the pot it was in?
    Over potting can cause problems as the roots can be sitting in very wet soil long term.
    Compost isn't any use long term either - anything staying potted long term needs a soil based medium  :)
    Wind/sun can cause damage - especially on some varieties more than others. 
    A photo will help too  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
