Maple with horisontally curled up leaves and black stuff in the middle.
About half of the leaves have opened normally, the other half are curled accross ways. They are distorted and bubbly or lumpy looking too. If you open them out there is a thick black or dark grey substance through the middle of the curl, in the manner of a sausage roll. There are tiny, cream coloured flecs in the black gunk.
It is very distinctive. One of you will have seen it before, but I couldn't find it listed with a search. I want to know if I should destroy affected leaves, the whole tree, or just keep it well away from my other Accer plant relatives.
P.S. It looks like the fairy have been rolling them up and sticking them like that on purpose, but don't tell anyone else I said this!
