How do you all grow this from seed? I've sowed a tray of them about a couple of weeks ago, but haven't germinated yet. Do they need heat?
No heat. I sow them in trays outside the previous summer, June or July, and leave them near the back door. I just keep them watered. Later in the autumn they are ready to plant out into the garden.
I've been growing lunaria rediviva for years. I have a clump in almost full shade, giving beautiful scented lilac flowers. Seeds prolifically, seedlings easily transferred to wherever you want them, slugs/snails find them attractive but omce established, they grow quite happily.

I stole them from a flower arrangement and threw them on the ground in November, they've germinated and the first ones are flowering now. so no I don't think they need heat at all.
I set some Lunaria Variegata alba seeds nearly 4 months ago and had the tray in the conservatory for a month but no germination so I put them outside in the unheated greenhouse. After another month one seed germinated and I potted it up when 2 true leaves had formed. However, I noticed the other day that 2 more seeds had germinated. I was given the seeds a year ago and they were a year old then so perhaps they aren't as viable as fresh seed.
