Bluebells & Compost

I’m in the process of reducing the amount of Spanish bluebells in my garden by digging them up.

If I remove the bulbs and the flowers, can I put just the leaves and stems on my compost? Or will I still risk ending up with bluebell compost?

    I'm doing the same.
Every year just as the flower stems appear (and before they flower) I pull all the leaves out of the ground and put them on the compost.
Just avoid putting any bulbs or open flowers in the compost

Thank you Pete! The flowers are out but I’ll make sure none go in the compost. Next year I’ll get them before they flower.

I try and weaken them each year by waiting until they've put a lot of energy into producing a flower spike. I then pull straight up and usually get a good 8" of below ground growth coming up too.
This is year 3 and there are significantly fewer of them now.
I can't dig mine up as they are under a big acer.
