What is this going to be?

I know I don't have long to wait to find out... but this appeared, looked interesting enough to leave, and now has buds - what do you reckon?

    Campanula persicifolia??  Perhaps...
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    That just came to me too @Liriodendron. Definitely looks like a campanula  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    I just spotted the ants!

    The leaves look like Campanula persicifolia but the flower buds look a bit too clustered to me. I wonder if it's a fasciated form? The cluster of buds looks more like C. glomerata but I think that has broader leaves.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Well it took its time, but it is indeed a Campanula. A Campanula that the ants love 😐
