Amelanchier Lamarckii Leaves damaged

Hi everyone!
The leaves on my amelanchier lamarckii are being attacked by something again - does anyone know what could be causing this and how to stop it getting any worse?
It happened last year and the leaves were shredded but no one at my local garden centre knew what could be doing it.
Any help much appreciated
thanks so much
😊

We find woodpigeons sit in the branches and eat the leaves, as they do on cherry trees in the spring ... it only happens while the leaves are young and soft ... now they've moved on to my Swiss chard and lettuce seedlings 🙄

I think the pale patches may be  the result of insects such as leafhoppers etc sucking some sap ... I've not noticed it on mine.

Edited to add:  If you look on Page 108 of the Roses@ Spring/Summer 2022 thread you'll see similar damage attributed to Sawflies.
